Read-a-thon (Day 7)

Day 7

Well I'm just gonna carry this read-a-thon on until I finish this book BECAUSE I CAN. Also because nobody really cares how long this runs.

# of pages/percentage read today:  17%
Thoughts: I like it. It hasn't blown me away yet but I'm certainly curious.
Books completed: 2 (761 total pages)

So I've decided to make this read-a-thon round up a weekly thing. I like the way I'm recording my progress and how I can record my thoughts and daily progress in a single post.

Read-a-thon (Days 5 & 6)

Day 5

Ahh NaNoWriMo! I won't let it get in the way of my reading. I can read and write all in one day. Maybe I won't be able to find time for things like eating and sleeping but those don't matter. It'll be fine :|

Or ... not ...

Currently reading: The Coldest Girl in Coldtown | Holly Black
# of pages/percentage read today: 51 pages
Thoughts: Even better with every chapter. Shame I had no time to read today.
Books completed: 1 (326 total pages)

Day 6

It's occurred to me that someone saw I was attempting a read-a-thon and conspired to make me fail. Especially when you take into account how my laptop got screwed up, wouldn't restart, and wouldn't let me recover a thing before I reset to factory settings... Oh the joys of a blank computer *sigh*

# of pages/percentage read today: 161 pages // 14%
Thoughts: This is super great and unique.
Books completed: 2 (761 total pages)

Read-a-thon (Days 3 & 4)

Day 3

# of pages/percentage read today: 109 pages // 66 pages
Thoughts: I'm in love with Angelfall and sad to have finished it. // Coldtown is pretty good so far. Great opening and Gavriel is intriguing.
Books completed: 1 (326 total pages)

Day 4
# of pages/percentage read today: 154 pages
Thoughts: This book is awesome. I love Coldtown. I love Tana. I love Gavriel. I HATE these creepy twins. Go away. Shoo!
Books completed: 1 (326 total pages)

Read-a-thon (Days 1 & 2)

Well, I'm starting my read-a-thon. Who cares if no one wants to join me - I have a fancy banner! Also motivation, that's a thing I have. Wow. Rare. Let's do this thing.

Day 1

Sadly my enthusiasm in the introduction was ruined when sickness struck and took away all my good intentions, leaving me with a violent stomach, aching bones, and other horrors. Because of this rogue illness I did nothing but sleep all day. It sucks.

Currently reading: Angelfall | Susan Ee
# of pages/percentage read today: 59 pages
Thoughts: I needed this so much after Allegiant disappointing. Also it's a post-apocalyptic book with supernatural causes???? I've been looking for a book like this all year and nobody thought to tell me it was sat on my bookshelf??
Books completed: 0

Day 2

Much better health-wise, though I did have to break my streak to go for an eye exam. Luckily my eyesight is fine and my lens requirements only changed a little bit, so it didn't hinder my reading much.

Currently reading: Angelfall | Susan Ee
# of pages/percentage read today: 124 pages
Thoughts: 1) I'm super impressed with how much I read today, 2) I love this book so much

Ahh So Spooky (week-long Halloween read-a-thon)

On Monday I will be starting a week-long reading spree to cut down my reading list, and have attempted to make the books vaguely Halloween themed. Because HALLOWEEN!

If, on the off chance, you want to join me, I'll be starting at 00:00 Monday (October 28th) and finishing at 23:59 the following Sunday (November 3rd). I'll be reading four to five books in an attempt to not be too ambitious, but you can read as many or as few as you like, in any genre, at any length.

These are the books I'm going to read:

and this amazing sounding book which I have a galley of

This is the format I'll be recording my progress in:

I'll be posting each day with my progress, and hopefully I'll find time to write a few reviews amongst all the reading :)

Leave a comment if you're gonna join me and feel free to make your own posts/tweets. I'd love to see what you're reading.

Halloween read-a-thon

It's Halloween! (sorta) I have a thousand books to read! Thus, a Halloween read-a-thon is required. I haven't been able to find a single read-a-thon that runs the week of Halloween, possibly this is bad searching on my part, so I decided to make one.

This read-a-thon runs Monday 28th October to 3rd November, and literally anyone can do it, though I created this thing just for me and fully expect to be alone in my reading marathon. Fingers crossed I can cut my reading list down by at least 4 books because my pile is HUGE.

Oh, and because I like to abbreviate things, this will henceforth be known as the ass read-a-thon, or maybe ass-a-thon. It's a work in progress. I'll designate twitter and tumblr tags nearer the time so you can follow my progress if you so wish.

And now I'm going to make a list of ~spoooky~ books to read.
