Punk & Poetry

I'm breaking the general theme of this blog because I want to talk about music, in particular The King Blues and Itch. It will eventually come back around to my book(s) if you stick to the end of the post.

I'm half dazed and just back from Slam Dunk North so if none of this makes sense, it's 'cause I'm only half awake.

Stacking The Shelves

Stacking The Shelves is a weekly meme hosted at Tynga's Reviews, and is all about sharing the books you are adding to your shelves, may it be physical or virtual. This means you can include books you buy in physical store or online, books you borrow from friends or the library, review books, gifts and of course ebooks!

Bought:

The Fifth Wave | Rick Yancey
Angelfall | Susan Ee

They also had The Eternity Cure in the same deal but I didn't have enough money for that, so I'll be getting that next week!

Ebook:

The Runaway Queen | Cassandra Clare & Maureen Johnson
Enchantress | James Maxwell (free on amazon)
Also: The Amulet's Flaw | Jess. E. Strider (free on amazon)

For Review:

Outcast | Adrienne Kress (courtesy of Diversion Books through Netgalley)
Evil angels? A girl with a shotgun shooting said evil angels? Yes. I am sold.

Book Fashion Friday: Shiver

Continuing with book fashion. This week is Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater, the book that hooked me into paranormal romance.

The cover:

The fashion:

White and blue like the cover, crazily pretty like the cover, and the shiny bits look like the leaves on the trees if you squint a little.

And also, because you have to have a little red:

Dress available here for $338, head band here for £38

30 Days of Books - Day 1

Best book you read last year

Shatter Me | Tahereh Mafi

The poetic prose and emotional writing just blew me away. I've never loved the writing of a book more than I do the Shatter Me series. Tahereh Mafi is incredibly talented and I feel very lucky to have been able to read her work.
