The thing I love the most about this duology is how unique it is. It's science fiction without being overly focused on the science side, it's horror without being obvious, it's romance without being solely focused on kissing and stuff (though, don't worry, there's definitely kissing and stuff), and it's also a high impact thriller and a subtle dystopia.

Utterly faultless. Hodge's writing is lush and descriptive, her world building is wonderfully detailed, and the way she writes romance took my breath away. Rosamund Hodge is, perhaps, the only author about whom I will talk in terrible, gaudy cliches.

The way to the Still Blue proves treacherous and tempestuous, with more complications than anyone could foresee, more dangers for not only Cinder, but Perry, Aria, and the rest of their tribe, and a million ways to die. My heart was pounding the entire time I was reading this, either from intense emotion or the horrible feeling that something bad was going to happen. There is never a moment, nor a single page, when this book didn't suck me into the story and hold me captive.

This book, this series, is harmonious and captivating. The writing carries you on a gentle wave through beautiful passages only to dash you against the rocks at the end. I'm in awe of Veronica Rossi, and I have never loved the third book in a trilogy more than this.

The characters of Avalon were funny, smart, and genuine. Jeth was brave beyond sense, unexpectedly intelligent for a thief, and a complete idiot darling. I loved each one of the characters, even the 'villains' who were surprisingly unique and new. 

Avalon is a masterpiece of young adult science fiction and everyone needs to read it.

I liked The Almost Girl. It had a heavy emphasis on science and technology, which I am a sucker for, and I loved all the terminology that immersed me in Riven's world. The plot was original and the book well written.
